SDTL was established as a Company in November 2005 with a vision to design a state of the art motion simulator.
A business plan was drawn up highlighting the Company's goal of manufacturing spacecraft simulators for the local and international market.
2. Launch
With the development of the prototype 34 seat simulator and custom made HD motion film completed, stage two of the project was executed with the soft launch of the prototype into the market at Westgate Shopping Centre in West Auckland.
The trial launch of this product at Westgate proved to be very successful and a valuable exercise as it passed its vigorous beta testing with flying colors. We exposed over 7,500 people to our prototype simulator which even though it has been running primarily as a 2D test module has earned positive feedback from everyone who experienced the show.
Following the test launch of the Prototype came the landing at Auckland's Museum of Transport and Technology. This popular museum lent itself perfectly as a commercial test site for SDTL to continue its development of the new commercial model Voyager II. A perfect place for a Kiwi-made time machine sitting amongst some of the oldest flying machines in the world.
